FROM DOCTORAL STUDENT TO PROFESSOR - JEGNA
Let's Journey Together
Embarking on my 11-year journey from undergrad to completing my doctorate was a continuous, unbroken path. While everyone's timeline differs, certain aspects of the academic voyage resonate universally. For me, the college classroom, and exchange of knowledge is fascinating, shaping perspectives in a constant circular dynamic between professors and students. Teaching brings me immense joy, especially in the area of behavioral health, prompting deep reflection on human development and personal identity, across the life span. This fertile ground has led to profound personal and professional connections, particularly with those pursuing doctoral degrees. Years of being sought out for advice taught me that the journey of weaving it all together requires ongoing support—I am, and always will be, a Jegna, committed to guiding others through their unique paths.
Having earned a doctorate, I've come to understand that the lifelong journey of making a difference begins after crossing the stage. There's no roadmap; each one of us must blaze our own trail, continuously growing into the role. I've amassed a wealth of information and wisdom along this path, and my purpose is to share what I know for the empowerment of others. This is where we foster a community of Black leaders, scholars, and intellectuals—a space to exchange experiences, receive support, and connect with others who share similar goals and values for themselves and the broader Black community.
MY COMMITMENT TO YOU
Career Mastery Beyond Graduation
Transitioning into life after graduation can be daunting. I provide continued coaching on a professional and personal level, assisting with the development of professional skills and practices so you can build a strong career, along with developing emotional fortitude and dynamic relationship skills that help you continue growing into your best self post-graduation
"her support matters"
With two professors as parents, you would think the pressure to pursue a PhD would be high growing up. However, that was never the case in our household. My mom, Dr. Rhonda Wells-Wilbon, encouraged exploration as my brother and I defined our own paths, giving us the resources to find our own passions. Coincidentally, my path led to a PhD of my own, but none of it could have been possible without the freedom and support I received from my mom.

A PATHWAY TO
Post-Doctorate Success
Navigating the complexities of doctoral studies can feel isolating, often lacking the right support system for guidance and motivation.
The transition from a doctoral program to the professional realm often brings uncertainties about career paths, industry integration, or entry into academia.
Scholars may struggle with publishing their research or initiating new projects post-graduation, hindering their professional progression.
And navigating your career is not all, you are a whole person.
There will be personal choices and decisions that also impact you along the way. Through my Jenga focused "Agojie Life" approach I help you navigate this time in your life with confidence and support.
"a mother teacher"
Within the Ubuntu tradition of the Bantu people of Central and South Africa is the concept of ‘mariguru’ or the ‘mother and teacher.’ Dr. Rhonda Wells-Wilbon is the embodiment of a ‘mother-teacher’ whose love, guidance, critique, and diligence is always done with African Centeredness to elevate her ‘children-students’ to be their best selves.
